Hurt her knee today. Looked painful. Hopefully nothing torn. Wanted to see her play in Columbia. If she did tear anything then I'd say UConn has uphill battle to contend this year.

Based on getting beat by 16 I think it was already uphill

Happened in the last minute of the game with UCONN up big. Crazy that she was even still playing, but that’s the way he Geno coaches. Kid played 39 minutes today,

Yes was going to be an uphill battle for them anyway. Geno only play 6-7 players

Yes, would have been uphill anyway. Still expected them to pull to together and be tough by March. Not without Bueckers, though.

up by 18 final minute of the game and Geno is still playing her. It looks to be an ankle but having her in the game at that point is just dumb

She plays too much. Not a surprise.

That's what Geno does, he plays them 35+ minutes because when everything's on the line he will only play 7

Geno could do whatever he wanted in that time between Tennessee’s decline and the rise of similar powers, but there’s no reason for him to be running his team into the ground now. If Bueckers is out for the year, their new ceiling is “tough draw who can ruin someone else’s season.”

That’s more reason to play the bench when you can. Maybe one of the 5* reserves surprises you, and you save mileage on your starters.

Geno has lost it. Playing her minutes unnecessarily @ end of game. He should have retired a few years ago on top.

She was walking the ball up the floor. No contact, no cut. One of the odder injuries you'll ever see.

I think Notre Dame and Baylor were kind of significant.

Well we'll find out if they actually have that depth you were speaking of before the season. Odd that he plays so few players when he has such a loaded roster.

Stinks. Maybe the best player in the sport can get a massive NIL deal now.

The saddest thing about Carolina fans is the inferiority complex that makes them so petty.

UConn is a deep team. I'm sure losing the National Player of the Year will be of some impact on them if she misses any time. As the two other injuries to their rotation already have been.

But you know what? I bet they're still pretty damn good.

Sure. With their depth, I'M sure they're still a final four contender. Still always wonder why his rotation is so short, with so much talent.

Significant, sure. But they weren’t peer programs any more than Gus Malzahn’s Auburn was a peer of Saban Alabama.

Between Summit’s last Final Four and our national championship, UConn won six of eight national titles and lost twelve games total, with nine of those coming in the same two season span.

They have peer programs good enough to beat them without it shocking the basketball world now, but they didn’t for a while there.

Sounds like it’s about to be the Azzi Fudd show for the foreseeable future.

Hope Bueckers makes a full recovery in the meantime. Sport is much better with her playing.

One of their fans asked the valid questions why she was in the final seconds of a game that was over, and the answers came in on little cat feet.

I learned that Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky never came out of a game (weird comps for the season’s second best player, but whatever) and that you don’t understand, THIS is the one athlete in team sports who doesn’t want to come out, so it’s different and totally normal. Awful. Imagine if everybody on the board just mindlessly shouted “trust the coach! #TeamTrueFan” instead of a handful.

Fudd is also hurt right now. She didn't play vs. Notre Dame and is expected to miss around three weeks.
