Description

Pizzelle owns an ice cream parlor, being the local candy maker of her town. She is the protagonist of Sugary Spire and the first playable character. She seems to be very fearful about something, but that's the main expression that can be seen the most, as she can also show signs of anger\happiness\malice.

She's on his quest of looting the Sugary Spire to find what she can use to make more candy.

Main Abilities

She plays similarly to Peppino, but instead of running to gain speed, she uses her scooter instead.

Notably, since the game's code is based off of one of the older Pizza Tower demos, it is very barebones and weak. This may be fixed in the future.

Ground Pound

Pressing down while in the air allows Pizzelle to do a ground pound with her feet. Pizzelle will lose speed upon landing on flat ground but will gain speed if she lands on a slope.

Dive Bomb

Pressing jump while diving will cause Pizzelle to do a fast slam move with her crusher, similar to the Ground Pound. It is much faster than the normal slam, but is very situational and mostly for speeding through levels. Pizzelle will lose speed upon landing on flat ground but will gain speed if she lands on a slope.

Super Jump

Pressing up while dashing at Mach 3 and releasing will cause Pizzelle to super jump. The player can move side-to-side slowly before releasing, but cannot move horizontally once the super jump is initiated. Unlike Peppino's super jump, Pizzelle's jump breaks metal blocks and can be initiated in the air.

Wall-Run

New: Identical to Peppino's

Demo: Pizzelle's wall-run actually functions quite differently than to Peppino's, as instead of maintaining and even accelerating when running up walls, she will slowly lose speed and eventually fall back down. When she jumps off a wall, she will jump off at the same speed she had started at when she first started wall-running.

Wall-Jump

New: Jumping off the wall conserves Pizzelle's current speed, however it gets capped at Mach 3.

Demo: Jumping off the wall fully conserves ALL of Pizzelle's current speed.

Grab

If initiated in the air, Pizzelle will perform a dash forward that ignores gravity for a short period of time. Otherwise identical to Peppino's.

Grab Spin

If Pizzelle grabs an enemy and holds run, she will spin with the enemy. Pressing the grab button will throw the enemy in the direction she is moving towards. Alternatively, let go of run to stop spinning and return to holding the enemy the normal way.

Slide

New: Identical to Peppino's

Demo: The slide quickly loses its speed instead.

Tumble

If you try to preform a grab as Pizzelle is alraedy grabbing, she will perform a tumble move that kills enemies upon contact, finishing it puts Pizzelle into Mach 3. This can be used to get more speed quickly and extend your air time. Holding down while tumbling in the air accelerates Pizzelle down quickly, which synergizes with anti-gravity of the grab. Can also be transitioned into a dive.

Trivia

  • Pizzelle's full name is Pizzelle "Suzette" Theodore, this is confirmed in the game's carrd.
    • She is often referred to as "Pizzy" as a nickname.
  • Pizzelle was confirmed transfem by the developers in the Sugary Spire discord.
    • This is a cause of frequent confusion, due to Pizzelle using any pronouns.
  • In some artwork, Pizzelle has freckles and her chef's hat has patches on it.
  • Pizzelle's crusher is based off of that in which The Noise uses in his respective Pizza Tower bossfight.
    • However, it is based off an early design for the crusher that isn't used in the final version of Pizza Tower.
  • A "pizzelle" is a traditional Italian waffle cookie. This is of course, an opposite of Peppino's name. While Peppino's name has a last name named after food (Spaghetti), Pizzelle has a first name named after food (Pizzelle). PIzzelle's name is based off of candy, just like how Peppino's last name is based off of Italian food.
  • Pizzelle's idle animation displays her extra teeth with her buck tooth, but in her Mach 3 animation, she does not have her buck tooth. This also happens a whole lot more with the noise's animations in pizza tower where the noise will either have his buck tooth with no other teeth, or have a full set of teeth with his buck tooth missing.
  • Pizzelle was going to have a shoulder bash in place of a grab at one point in development, but this was changed less than a day after it was announced.
  • Pizzelle can actually crawl under speed boosters to avoid getting launched by them. This can be useful for backtracking as it prevents you from being locked out of areas with speed boosters.
  • Pizzelle originally had a purple bow tie. This was removed to help simplify her design.
  • Pizzelle was going to a have a train hat transformation that put her in Mach 3 and made her unable to stop running. After a certain amount of time, her hat would explode and end the transformation. The only proof of this is a piece of concept art suggesting it didn’t get that far in development.
  • Pizzelle is a surprisingly good artist.
  • Pizzelle crochets blankets for her friends and family in her free time.
  • Pizzelle's online username is "candyConfectioner."
  • Despite popular belief, Pizzelle is not a gremlin as confirmed by the devs.
