MINNEAPOLIS -- Frank Vascellaro is back at the anchor desk after taking a few weeks off to recover following a bad fall and shoulder surgery. WCCO's evening anchor slipped and fell the day after Christmas while helping his daughter load up her car.
Amelia and Frank are deeply involved with the community and frequently serve as the master of ceremonies at some of the Twin Cities premier charity events. They live in Minneapolis with their three kids and two dogs.
He believes if he stayed at WCCO past his 50th birthday he would have ended his career there, thus the impetus to try something new. He says he is “intrigued by the total creative freedom [of radio] without the tight clock of TV news.”
She grew up watching Midwest thunderstorms in her hometown in northwest Indiana. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology with a minor in mathematics from Valparaiso University.
