CSC Seniors Honored at Ivy Day

Graduating Chadron State College seniors were honored during Ivy Day, a traditional event since 1920, sponsored by the Blue Key and Cardinal Key national honor societies.

Ivy Day royalty elected by the student body are King Cooper Reichman of Dalton, Neb., and Queen Kayla Brown of Glendive, Mont. The King’s attendants are Cordell Farmer of Kit Carson, Colo., Harrison Goeke of York, Neb., Seth Studnicka of Sidney, Neb., and Minh Duc Le of Saigon, Vietnam. The Queen’s attendants are Jaylee Shaw of Sidney, Neb., Quinn Koop of Madrid, Neb., Carlee Brownawell of Hershey, Neb., and Grace Redinger of Hastings, Neb. Junior attendants to the queen candidates are Ella Redden and Vivian Ritzen, daughters of CSC employees.

The Cardinal Key orator was Quinn Koop of Madrid, Neb., and the Blue Key orator was Seth Studnicka of Sidney, Nebraska. The faculty greeter was Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jim Powell who is retiring in June.

Platinum Eagle winners are Creighton Harrington of Loup City, Nebraska, and Bryan Zutavern of Dunning, Nebraska. The award, considered the highest honor a CSC student can receive, is presented annually to one male and one female for distinguished leadership and service. Runners-up were Cade Stephenson of Alliance and Katelyn Bach of Burns, Wyo.

The students crowned as royalty and the Platinum Eagle recipients were just some of the outstanding graduates who received accolades. Many students were recognized for their accomplishments by their academic departments, as well as those who will graduate Saturday with honors.

Blumanthal Named to Hastings College Dean’s List

Hastings College has announced the Dean’s List for its spring 2024 semester. For the semester, 351 students from 20 states and 11 countries were named to the Dean’s List.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 to 4.0 scale and be registered for full-time coursework.

Chloe Blumanthal, of Alliance, was named to the Dean’s List.

UNK Announces Dean’s List

The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester.

Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale. Students earn a 4.0 for an “A,” 3.0 for a “B” and 2.0 for a “C.”

Chadron State College has announced the undergraduate students qualifying for the Spring 2024 President’s List. The list consists of students with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. To qualify, students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester. Cities, states, and countries listed are provided by the students.

Chadron State College has announced the undergraduate students qualifying for the Spring 2024 Dean’s List. Students met the requirements for the Dean’s List by earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. To qualify, students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester. Cities, states, and countries listed are provided by the students.

Baker, Gomez Recognized with Honors

Concordia University, Nebraska recently named 205 students to its honors list for the Fall 2024 semester. Students who earn a 3.90 GPA or higher while also completing at least 12 credit hours during the semester qualify for this list.

Joel Baker and Abraham Gomez of Alliance were recognized.

Kollars Graduates from Hastings College

Hastings College held its 138th Commencement on Saturday, May 18, 2024. During the ceremony, the College awarded degrees to 219 undergraduates and five Master of Arts in Teaching graduates. Graduates represented 19 states and seven countries.

Diana Renee Kollars, of Alliance, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Systems.

UNL Awards Degrees at May Ceremony

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 3,566 degrees during commencement exercises May 3, 17 and 18.

The 3,484 graduates are from 64 countries; 46 U.S. states and Puerto Rico; and about 230 Nebraska communities.

The Bob Devaney Sports Center hosted a ceremony for College of Law graduates May 3; Pinnacle Bank Arena held a ceremony for students earning graduate and professional degrees May 17; and Memorial Stadium hosted a ceremony for undergraduates May 18.
