Nicole Nourse and Delaynie Maple each collected their 100th career victories in wins over the Beach and the Golden Eagles

LOS ANGELES– The No. 3-ranked USC beach volleyball team (6-2) collected a pair of 5-0 sweeps over No. 9 Long Beach State (2-1) and Concordia (3-1) on the first day of the Battle for Los Angeles at Merle Norman Stadium on Friday, March 1.

At the top court, the Trojans' senior pair of All-AmericansMegan KraftandDelaynie Maplewent 2-0 with straight set wins to improve to 7-1 on the season and reached 35 career victories as a duo. For Maple, the two wins were her 99th and 100th in her career.

On court two, twin sistersAudrey NourseandNicole Noursewere also 2-0 with a three-set win over Long Beach State's Savannah Standage and Julia Westby and a straight-set win over CUI's Sara Ostojic and Tatum Smith. As a pair, the sisters improved to 97-18 all-time, while Nicole herself recorded her 99th and 100th wins as a Trojan. Audrey reached 98-career wins.

The Women of Troy improved to 85-11 (.885) all-time at Merle Norman Stadium and extended their home win streak to a program record 20-consecutive wins dating to the end of the 2022 season. USC also moved to 12-1 all-time in home openers and has won six straight.

USC's graduate duo ofMaddi KrizandGrace Seitswent to 6-1 with a hard-fought three-set win over Long Beach State's Mo Gibson and Natalie Glenn, 19-21, 21-17, 15-9. Kriz later teamed with sophom*oreMadison Whitefor a win over CUI. White and fellow sophom*oreGabby Walkergot a three-set win against Long Beach State.

Several Trojans collected their first-career wins. FreshmanMadison Goellnerwent into the record books when she teamed with sophom*oreMabyn Thomasto get a 21-12, 21-10 win over CUI's Kelia Giusta and Jordyn Nichols at the No. 4 position. FreshmanAshley Paterand graduateMolly Phillipseach got first-career wins when they defeated Eva Prewitt and Ashleigh Souza of CUI, 21-9, 21-14.

The Trojans are back in action with two duals on Saturday (March 2) at Merle Norman Stadium as host to No. 18 Cal Poly and No. 14 Grand Canyon. USC-Cal Poly will meet at 10 a.m. PT and USC-GCU is set for a 12 p.m. start. Both duals will be streamed live.
