John Maxwell 65 Glen Head Services were held yesterday at St Church in Glen Cove for John Maxwell president of Community Hospital at Glen Cove and retired chairman of the Kollmorgen Corp Maxwell 65 died Wednesday at the hospital of a heart attack After working for Powers Chemco Inc of Glen Cove Maxwell founded Photocircuits Corp a Glen Cove electronics manufacturing firm in 1951 In 1970 the firm became part of Kollmorgen which has facilities in Hartford and Stamford Conn He later became chairman of Kollmorgen and held the post until he retired in July He also had been a director of Long Island Lighting Co Slater Electric Inc and Nassau Trust Co Maxwell a Glen Head resident for more than 40 years became a director of Community Hospital in 1956 He was named its president in 1968 and held that post until his death He was the chairman of the Nas-sau-Suffolk Hospital Council from 1962-66 The graduate of the Taft School in Connecticut received several awards for his community service He is survived by his wife of 43 years Marie two sons David of Glen Cove and Douglas Jr of Locust Valley a daughter Laura Seaman of Bethesda Md two brothers James of Marathon NY and Bryce of Princeton NJf a sister Margaret Garfield of Glen Cove and eight grandchildren Harrogate Tenn and a son Wallace of Ocean Beach Services to be held Friday in Manitoba Burial plana are not complete Contributions may be made to a memorial fund in name at the Ocean Beach Fire Department in care of John Lardner Tennessee Williams Buried St Louis (UPD Celebrated playwright Tennessee Williams who spent an unhappy childhood in St Louis and later called the city and was buried there yesterday near his mother His brother Dakin Williams arranged for the 90-minute funeral mmu at opulent St Louis Cathedral and burial at historic Calvary Cemetery in spite of his brother's well-known dislike for St Louis and his desire to be cremated "I feel very strongly against dispos-ing of the body of a person who had the giant literary stature of my Dakin said The funeral was attended by several hundred including many of William longtime friends Williams 71 died Feb 24 in New York Authorities Baid he suffocated after inhaling a cap from a medicinal spray bottle Williams hd converted to Catholicism but never practiced the faith During his homily the Rev Jerome Wilkerson read excerpts from several of works including "The Glass "The Night of the Iguana" and Wallace Adamson Fire Dept Founder Wallace Clifton Adamson 85 who founded the fire department in the Fire Inland community of Ocean Beach died Wednesday at his home in Ormond Beach Fla after a long illness Adamson who moved to Florida 10 years ago lived in Ocean Beach for more than 50 years He organized the first volunteer fire department and served aa its chief from 1936-45 During that time Adamson also served aa police commissioner He often told family members that he made only one arrest during his law enforcement career "A fighting he said according to his son "A divinty student who had never had a drink Bom in the Canadian province of Ontario Adamson was a first lieutenant and a middleweight boxing champion in the Royal Air Force during World War After the war he worked for the Willya Overland Co an automobile manufacturer where he rose from a laborer to chief mechanic and trouble-shooter In 1926 he married the former Anne Pearson and two years later moved to Ocean Beach He worked a number of years as a plumber and in 1942 opened his own real-estate firm He retired in 1973 Other survivors include a daughter Gwenyth of rived by her
